I'm
going to tell you a true story. Listen...
It
was in India. We were on the road from Dindigul towards the east
coast.
We
decided to stretch and to go to the toilet. Everything would have
been perfect if not the fact that in the surroundings there were no
petrol stations and no place where to “relieve” ourselves.
Anyway
we had to organize a “toilet” in some way, so... boys went to the
left and girls to the right.
In
a certain point we hear piercing shout reaching from the “male
part” of the “toilet”.
I
run up there and I see our Indian guide on the ground curling up with
pain. “What happened?!” - I ask. -”A snake bit me and now I am
waiting for the death to come”.-he replied. I was surprised
(because of his words) and terrified at the same time. There were
more people with me and we all had the same look on our faces: open
mouth and eyes like ping-pong balls. “We are going immediately to
the hospital” - I said to our guide. -”I'm not going anywhere!
God wanted the snake bit me and now I'm humbly waiting for my
destiny, my death. This is the will of God, I cannot question it!”-he
stammered in pain. We decided with the rest of the group that we are
not going to listen to him. The closest hospital was 15 minutes away,
so we had to act fast. We “loaded” our guide in the car (we
almost had to tie him down!) and we went to the nearest hospital.
The
doctors immediately took care of the Indian and when he was
stabilized we could visit him.
-”You
see, you're alive, you got the antidote! You will live many years! If
we hadn't been determined, you would have died in pain!”
“Apparently
God wanted it to be that way”-the Indian replied.
