6 tricks to live a better life!

You don't have time for lunch? You're doing everything you can to finish your work on time,
but you fail anyway? You are nervous and exhausted?
Here are 6 tricks which will reduce your stress, organize better your time and improve the quality of your work and life!

1. The 2 minute rule.
One of the time management consultants, David Allen invented „The two minute rule” to easily assess in which order the task should be done. If you determine that the task can be done in 2 minutes time, you should do it right away, because you will need much more time for organisation and analysis of the task, than doing the task itself straight away.
Task prioritization based on the time of execution will allow you to make better decisions about your time management. The tasks which need more time to be accomplished, should be done when you are sure that no one and nothing can disturb you. Besides, filtering the tasks with “the two minute rule” will make you achieve more, in less time. This type of task organisation works out especially when you are at the end of the working day. You still have some energy to do something, but you don't want to begin a large project.
To verify the results, write a journal or a file on the PC where you will write down how much free time you've gained during the week after applying this tip.

2. Create a daily schedule which makes sense.
Think thoroughly about everything you have to do. Write down all goals you want to reach during the day. Write each tasks in categories related to your goal. If you want for example increase profits, write down the tasks which are related to it, like making new clients, brainstorming, new ideas, testing new strategies etc.
It's a better than writing dozen of tasks which are not related to each other and accomplishing them at random.

3. Motivate yourself!
Sometimes it's difficult to do things, because the work that you do is monotonous and you prefer to have some fun on Facebook, or play a game on your Smartphone. Luckily there is a way to cheat on your brain and an unpleasant work cane become pleasant. The trick is called “Delayed satisfaction”. Every time you achieve a goal, you give yourself a prize. Dr Joseph Ferrari from DePaul university suggests: Something you like to do becomes a motivator for the things you don't like to do.”
When you completely concentrate on the task you have to do, and after finishing it you will treat yourself, for example with a piece of chocolate or going for a short walk, you will get used to a healthy way of working and become much more motivated than you were before.

4. „Unplug yourself” and regain energy through mindfulness.
Our minds are overloaded. We are 24/7 trapped in the technological world, from Facebook to Internet shopping. You spend all day long with your smart phone, avoiding the look of others, non saying hello, not talking to anyone new. Everything because Facebook messenger, Twitter, Instagram and other time and personality eaters!
Dedicate few time everyday to turn off all the electronic devices and allow your mind and body to regenerate from stress which you accumulated throughout the day.
Practising mindfulness through meditation (doesn't mean sitting like a yogi with legs on the arms and humming OMMMMMMMM) and thought relaxation exercises is a great method to take a rest after a long day at work and irreplaceable way to prevent job burnout.

5. Care for yourself
It might seem strange and irrational, but using our time better means to have it more for ourselves. It's easy to get lost in your work and duties. But avoiding to fulfil our basic needs might become dangerous!
CARE means:
  • Consume your meals regularly
  • Avoid medicines especially antidepressants or stress reducers
  • Rest well, means you have to sleep enough during the night
  • Exercise!!!!
This easy acronym will allow you to remember the basic rules of taking care of yourself. Besides, it's good to find a hobby (cooking, reading, playing instrument, volunteering, painting, etc.). It will regenerate you mind and body and prepare you to face new challenges.

6. Systematically clean up you working space
There's nothing worse than looking for a pen for 30 minutes, thinking: “It was here yesterday!!!” and after finding it realising that your mobile phone disappeared from your desk and you think: “Why it has to happen to me! Always when I have so many things to do!!”.

Everyday after finishing your work clean up your desk. Once every 2 weeks get rid of out of date notes, business cards, offers, adverts and other things which are littering your desk. Here you can find few ideas how to clean your working space. Good organization and tidiness will save your time and nerves, and it will increase your productivity!
